I wasn't clear before and I apologize; I will be posting once per day. Here is my second entry.

Prowler

Dusk
Everything in sight
Is blind to the naked eye
Your senses are heightened
In the darkness
Causing your heart to race

Whether the sound is from
A cat prowling across the
Hard wooden floor it doesn't matter
Every sound you don't recognize
Will set your imagination astray

Every night, every disturbance
I pray for my life to be spared
Tears stream down my cheeks
My eyes burn and sting
Please let me live another night

Most nights, you may drift peacefully
And awaken to a new day unscathed
But it only takes one night
For your life to be on the line
As the prowler hunts for you

The prowler aches for you blood
It thirsts to penetrate
A fresh victim with it's knife
A knife that glows in the moonlight
Then becomes a flawless ruby

Once the prowler has found you
It is too late to run
The knife cuts and stabs
Your porcelain skin
Revealing crimson rivers

The prowler has silenced you
And shall hunt once again
As your light fades
You hope your screams
Have warned others to stop
The prowler's reign of blood-lust

Hello all and welcome to Having Tea with Me. The main purpose of this blog is to share various works of poetry and art I have done over the years. Sometimes I will post someone else's art and or poetry as a tribute to them. Here is my first poem.

Egotist

Locks of gold
Under chemical restraint
Turning soft, silky strands
Into a sculpture of his design
A man only a mother could love

Truth of his heart
Locked away by his muscular
Pectorals, abdominals, and ego
All draped in suffocating, black material
A man who can not obtain a lover

A gentle heart and kind soul
Shallowness and selfishness obscures
Capability of love and affection
Self-centered to the core
A man who can not learn from his mistakes

He hides the truth behind darkened glass
He raises his shields to impress
Yet he knows time and time again
All he needs is show his pure self
Open the curtains! Show them who you really are!
